A large mixed group of ancient bronze objects. Lot includes: 2 Near Eastern bronze bells with remnants of iron clappers, c. 1000 - 300 BC, 33 x 21 mm & 5 x 23 mm; A bronze ring with incised lion on the bezel, ring size about 2 1/2 - 3; A Persian hand brooch, c. 5th - 4th Century BC, with attractive patination and only lacking pin, L: 5.5 cm; A pair of Roman tweezers, c. 1st - 4th Century AD, still in good working order, L: 8.3 cm; A group of 3 Roman bronze brooches, 2nd - 3rd Century AD, the first with the body in the form of a waterfowl with decorative areas on the body for inlay, L: 3.5cm, the second a shield brooch with central boss which was originally inlayed, 3.2 x 2.7 cm, and the last an open-work brooch with nice green patina, 2.5 x 2.5 cm, And an attractive pair of Roman bronze medical or cosmetic spoons, c. 1st - 5th Century AD, the example with smaller bowl with incised decoration, the other with decorative elements where it attaches to the bowl. Longest L: 8 in (20.4cm). Ex North Yorkshire, UK private collection.
