Tom Hall上校 (1928-2022) 珍藏
清乾隆 青白玉桃式蓋盒

Condition Report:
There is some expected nibbling or occasional nicks along some edges, including the tip end of one leaf that have chipped off. There may be other minor slightly polished chips, but otherwise the box is in very good condition. The old fitted wood stand is also in good condition. The actual colour is somewhat more pale celadon, less white than the illustration would suggest in the catalogue.

品相良好,僅有少許輕微撞痕及細磕。其一葉尖有少許缺損。實際呈色較青白。

Catalogue Note:
A similar box, of a smaller size, in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, is illustrated in Ming Wilson, Chinese Jades, London, 2004, no. 58, pp. 56-57; two similar examples, both formerly from F.O. Matthiessen Collection, are now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, one on view in Gallery 222 (acc. no. 04.6.26a, b) the other in storage (04.6.16a, b); compare also two similar jade pieces, both sold at Christie`s New York, 29th June 2021, lot 108; and 23rd March 2023, lot 925; also a large white jade ‘Peach and Bat’ group, illustrated in The Woolf Collection of Chinese Jade, London, 2013, pl. 81, p. 190.

Provenance:
John Sparks Ltd., London (label).
