A late 19th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver footed bowl, Cutch dated 1894 Raj period. Of rounded circular form upon a domed pedestal foot. The body with chased decoration of foliate scrolls and rosettes interspersed with pursuant animals such as a lion attacking a gazelle, dogs attacking gazelle or dogs attacking a boar, the front with a shield shape cartouche engraved with a presentation inscription reading “A wedding present to P. C. Petit from Mrs D. N. Dadysett 8. 5. 94”. Diameter – 21.2 cm / 8.4 inches Height – 16.5 cm / 6.5 inches Weight – 846 grams / 27.2 ozt A similarly formed Cutch bowl dated 1895, of 409 grams was sold these rooms, 14 Feb 2023, lot 179 (£400 incl. prem)
