A late 19th century French brass gorge cased carriage alarm clock, retailed by J. Klaftenberger, with eight day movement striking quarters and repeating on a bell, the backplate stamped 'J. Klaftenberger' and numbered '1278', the similarly signed white enamel circular dial with black Roman hour numerals above subsidiary alarm dial, all framed by a scroll engraved gilt surround, the gorge case with bevelled glass panels and engraved presentation inscription to back of base, height 12.7cm (lacking swing handle and back door handle), together with an associated leather travelling case and a winding key.
