A late 19th century Viennese silver, gem and enamel desk clock, modelled as a cockerel with vari-cut ruby and emerald wings, purple and green enamel tail feathers and orange and yellow enamel head decoration, the quatrefoil base with polychrome enamel scroll detail, the timepiece with circular gilt dial with Roman numerals (dial cold soldered in place), the glazed reverse revealing the verge movement, the rim set with a line of rectangular and cushion shaped emeralds, case diam. 43mm, overall height 12.0cm
