A late 19th century gold amethyst necklace. Designed as a graduated circular-shape amethyst line, with partially concealed push-piece clasp. French assay marks. Length 41.5cms. Weight 33.6gms.
Condition Report: Overall condition good. Some surface scratches and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
Possible repairs to some connecting links.
Some possible gem replacements.
Principal gem mount with hinged loop surmount to reverse.
Amethysts are a well matched, slightly pinkish purple hue. Slight variation in tone and saturation.
Amethysts in good condition with minor abrasion and nibbles to the facet edges.
Estimated dimensions of principal amethyst 11.5 (diameter) by 6.7mms. Estimated dimensions of smallest amethyst 7.3 (diameter) by 4.4mms.
French assay marks for 9ct gold.
