A late George II silver cake basket. With a pierced swing handle, an applied flower leaf and scroll chased border, pierced sides, on four leaf-scroll feet, the bowl engraved at the centre with a crest, mark of Lewis Hearn and Francis Butty, London 1759, 11cm high overall (handle down), 34.5cm wide, 29cm deep (4 1/4 x 13 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches), 1140g (a little over 36 1/2ozs)
Condition Report:
Overall in good condition. Some minor dents to the underside of the basket. Evidence of slight repair to the border and a minor crack. Handle does not stay up. Some applied areas of decoration has become slightly loose around the edge. Some signs of light wear including scratches and rubbing consistent with age and usage.
