A late George III mahogany architect's or draughtsman's table, circa 1810, the double ratcheted action top above a part fitted drawer with three canisters and two compartments, and with Pembroke action twin flaps, 81cm high, 69cm deep, 123cm wide (open) Provenance: From The Hon. Sir William McAlpine Collection Condition Report: Marks, scratches and abrasions comensurate with age and useSome old chips and splits, some old repairs. Some old additional scratches. Some additional old surface stains and lightened areas to the top from cleaning. Some very minor separation and minor movement between two main elements of the top. This is as expected for age and type od construction but is present. Natural fading to colour overall and would benefit from sympathetic waxing. All elements appear original including locks, and handles and the interior fittings. The lock lacks a key. Solid mahogany linings to the drawer and interior fittings. The ratchet arm to support the raising of the top section appears all original and in working order. Hinges and supports to hinged side leaves all original.
