A late Georgian 18ct gold glazed woven hair memorial ring, with black enamel and split pearl surrounds.Ring size F1/2. 3.7gms.
Condition Report: Scratches and small marks.
Reverse of ring head engraved, last name is slightly indistinct, possibly Brewin 'Emma [Brewin], died 29 Aug't 1823 aged 18.'
Scratches to the glass. Some water damage to the hair.
Moderate abrasions to the enamel.
Split pearls show varied wear, some significant.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
