A late Georgian gold diamond and enamel memorial ring.

A late Georgian gold diamond and enamel memorial ring. The glazed panel, with old-cut diamond and black enamel surround and sides, to the 'In Memory Of' band. Estimated total diamond weight 1.60cts. Ring size R. Weight 6gms.
Condition Report: Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
Diamond trefoil shoulders possible repair/alterations, slight soft solder visible to the reverse.
With personal engraving 'Eliza Taylor 17th Dec 1820 at 67'.
Diamonds well matched.
Diamonds bright and lively.

Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

Diamonds with small inclusions, some dark inclusions, few have nicks to the surface.
Black enamel is in fair condition with some abrasion, small chips and minor nibbles to the edges.

Length of ring head 1.3cms.
Electronically tests as 15ct gold.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
