A late Victorian garnet necklace. Comprising a graduated series of oval-shape garnet links, each with cannetille surround, to the similarly-set clasp. French assay marks. Length 38cms. Weight 28.9gms.
Condition Report: Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
Replacement gems.
Clasp slightly loose, may require repair.
Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
Garnets are a well matched dark slightly orange-red to dark red colour, with good clarity and typical inclusions, some surface reaching.
Garnets generally in good condition with minor abrasions, one with small chip to one side.
Width 1.1cms.
