A late-Victorian silver-gilt mounted glass claret jug,
George Richards Elkington, London 1856,
the mount with masks and trailing vines, with a domed hinged cover with a thumb-piece modelled as a rampant lion holding a shield, with an inscription and later gilded, the later glass body with engraved vine and grape decoration, and with a scroll handle, height 26cm.
