A late Victorian silver mounted hand mirror by William Comyns & Sons.
A late Victorian silver mounted hand mirror, the circular bevelled edge mirror plate with silver back decorated with the five 'Angel's Head's', after Reynolds, with a foliate embossed handle. Hallmarked William Comyns & Sons, London 1896. Height 9.25" (23.5cm).
Condition Report:
- Displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use.
- Some surface wear and rubbing to the raised decoraiton of the angel heads, causing slight loss of detail or definition.
- Some likely repairs visible around the top of the handle. Also some small cracks to the lower handle around the scrolls.
- Mirror plate appears in good order, although there are some small pot marks evident to the bottom of the mirror backing.
- One set of hallmarks are clear and legible with light wear, the other set located around the edge are partly worn with heavier rubbing.
