A long, Ottoman tüfek, 18th century
Smooth barrel in 15 mm calibre, a silver front sight and silver-plated rear sight on the top, two tropaia and one caduceus chiselled in half relief below floral ornaments at the breech, above which a pseudo signature on the indicated back of the barrel. The miquelet lock with lavish silver plating (lock action is fatigued), typically shaped stock almost completely covered in embossed, gilt sheet brass, also with floral and trophy decoration, the midsection of the butt covered in red velvet, somewhat worn and repaired in places. Length 155 cm.
