A long flintlock pistol, Andrea Medicina, Brescia, circa 1670
Description: Fluted, octagonal to sixteen-edged barrel with canon muzzle. Smooth bore in 13 mm calibre. The barrel maker’s mark "Lazarino Cominazzo" struck at the breech. Lock plate and hammer chiselled with raised scrolling leaves, engraved signature "Andrea Medici..a". Lightly carved walnut full stock with finely pierced and engraved iron furniture. The trigger guard chiselled with scrolling leaves in low relief. Original wooded ramrod with engraved iron tip. Length 51 cm.
