A lovely Sinu shell and stone bead necklace, Colombia, c. AD 1000 - 1500, comprised of shell and black steatite disk beads of varying sizes strung with a few differing shapes, a central pendant consisting of a large steatite bead with domed shell bead below and three dangles of stone beads of varying colors. Wonderfully constructed with ancient beads on modern cord and clasp. L: 21 1/2 in (54.5 cm). Ex Boston private collection.
