A magnificent German court hunting hanger by Bormann, Munich, 19th centuryThe sturdy, straight blade (slightly stained) with a round spine, fullered on both sides, and a double-edged central point. The hilt made of gilt, non-ferrous metal, richly decorated with hunting motifs in relief. The guard plate on the obverse with a stag trophy, the grip scales in greyish-brown horn (minor defects in places) appliquéd with three rivets. Black leather scabbard (scuffed), the gilt fittings with lavish relief decoration. "Bormann München" stamped on the back of the locket, two movable suspension rings. Complete with the original by-knife, marked "Bormann". Slightly damaged in places, signs of age. Length 73 cm. The fire gilding in beautiful condition.Condition: II +
