A magnificent Indian gold-inlaid tulwar, 18th centuryThe slightly curved, single-edged blade forged in wootz-Damascus with indicated heel, a lengthy inscription on the obverse running along the back of the blade and at the root, referring to the rulers of Sindh, at that time an Indian province, with a medallion on each side, light pitting at the chape. The hilt of characteristic shape with a long crosspiece and lavish gold inlays. The velvet-covered scabbard with a gilt chape. Length 93 cm.Condition: II -
