A mail aventail for a bascinet, 15th/19th century
Mail coif of riveted links with an outer diameter of approx. 9 mm. Sturdy mail collar, worked longer at the front and back. The front slit for the face opening. The upper border sewn with a continuous leather strip with perforations for the helmet staples. Height approx. 38 cm. Original mail, the cut and leather covering probably executed during historicism.
