A matched set of four late Victorian silver serving spoons, each with large shell bowl leading to a shaped, part figural stem detailed with foliate and scroll motifs. Hallmarked as two pairs, Mappin & Webb (John Newton Mappin), London 1895 and 1897. Length of each 8.75" (22.2cm), weight 9.08 ozt (282.6 grams).
Condition Report:
- All appear in fairly good overall condition, displaying some expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing consistent with age and use.
- Some minor edge nicks but otherwise all bowls appear to have faired well and in good order.
- Residues of polish visible to stems. Some surface rubbing causing slight loss of detail or definition to some areas.
- All hallmarks located to reverse of shell bowls. Some light rubbing but all still clearly legible.
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
