A matchlock musket from the collection of the Regensburg city armoury, Suhl, dated 1636
Beschreibung: Octagonal, slightly tapered barrel with flared muzzle. Smooth bore in 19 mm calibre. Dovetailed rear sight, at the breech two indistinctly struck marks. Rectangular pan with flash guard and swivelling cover. Simple matchlock, cock with original match. Beech wood full stock (slightly worm-eaten in places) with simple iron furniture. In the area opposite the lock inlaid bone plaque with date "1636" above the crossed keys of the city of Regensburg. Iron trigger guard with attached old collection number. Original wooden ramrod with iron tip. Length 156 cm.
