A mid-20th century Indian Raj unmarked silver four-piece tea service, South India circa 1950
Comprising a teapot, a milk jug, a twin handled sugar bowl and a biscuit dish. Of globular circular form, with chased decoration of vignettes depicting an elephant and a figure, oxen pulling a plough and other village scenes. The teapot with an ebonised scroll handle and the hinged domed lid surmounted by an ebonised knop finial. Each engraved underneath “From Lena To Dalu”. Each stamped “Sterling” and “Silver”. (4)
