A mid 20th century 18ct gold Sri Lankan sapphire ring. The oval-shape sapphire, with rose-cut diamond stepped shoulders. Verbal from GCS, stating Sri Lanka, no heat. Estimated dimensions of sapphire 13.2 by 10.8 by 5.8mms. French assay marks. Ring size P. Weight 4.4gms. Purchasing information Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. White metal plating worn. Diamonds well matched. Diamonds bright.

Individual size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate weight estimation and colour and clarity assessment.

Rose-cut diamonds with some small inclusions and natural surface features. Sapphire is a medium slightly violetish blue hue, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Noticeable window effect seen across the majority of the stone.

Sapphire in good condition with minor abrasions.
