A mid 20th century platinum diamond double clip brooch. Each clip designed as a pave-set diamond scrolling ribbon, with brilliant-cut diamond central highlight and brilliant and baguette-cut diamond line accents. Estimated total diamond weight 7.50 to 8.50cts. Length 7.7cms. Weight 27.1gms.
Condition Report: Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/ wear and discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.
Appears to be a replacement brooch fitting.
Clips slightly loose to the brooch fitting.
Evidence of possible repair work, with some areas of slight discolouration.
Metal tests primarily as platinum, with approximately 9ct gold pin fittings.
Diamonds well matched.
Diamonds bright.

Principal brilliant-cut diamonds estimated total weight 1ct, I-J colour, SI2-P1 clarity.
Individual size and setting of non-principal diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity
Diamonds generally with small light and dark inclusions under 10x magnification.

Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
