A mid Victorian gold, hardstone cameo and enamel pendant, circa 1870. The sardonyx cameo carved to depict Hera, inverted to the blue and white enamel and cannetille surround, with white enamel floral highlights and similarly-enamelled geometric surmount. May be worn as a brooch. Length 6.3cms. Weight 18.5gms.

Condition Report

Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Brooch fittings later additions. Wear to gilt finish, appreciably to the reverse. Cameo presumed later replacement/re-set at a later date. Cameo with nicks and small chips to the edges. Surmount with small dents to the central sphere. Enamel generally in good condition, small loss to one of the blue sections to the surmount.
