A mid-Victorian silver spirit kettle on stand.

A mid-Victorian silver spirit kettle on stand, the bullet shape body engraved with a border of foliate scrolls with cherub head detail above twin opposed vacant cartouche within entwined branch surround, with flush fitting removable lid and a wicker covered swing handle, the stand with pierced border and three scrolled legs to shell feet supporting a central burner. Hallmarked Beare Falcke, London 1866, later removable lid to burner hallmarked William Hutton & Sons Ltd., London 1898. Maximum height on stand with handle upright 12" (30.5cm), gross weight 40.72 ozt (1266.5 grams).

Condition Report:
- Displaying some expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and general use.
- Some minor surface dints and bumps.
- Some heavier tarnishing and dirt residues to interior of teapot.
- Hinges of swing handle appear in good order, it will stay upright but falls down easily.
- Wicker is probably not original.
- The removable lid with some slight knocks and little gouges/nicks around edge and also edge of flange.
- Lid is a good flush fit.
- Some surface rubbing to areas of engraved decoration with some slight loss of detail.
- Stand appears firm on its feet.
