[ translate ]

A mid-Victorian silver three piece bachelor tea set, comprising a bullet shape tea pot with straight-sided spout and stained wood handle, and a bulbous cream jug and twin-handled sugar bowl, each decorated with ribbon tied swags and vacant ovals and raised on a spread circular foot. Hallmarked Henry Holland, London 1864/65. Maximum length of teapot 8" (20.5cm), gross weight 16.22 ozt (504.4 grams).

Condition Report:
- All pieces displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
- Some surface dints and bumps to all with some larger more notable dents and bruises to the cream jug.
- Surface wear and rubbing to areas of decoration causing some loss of detail. Also a few tiny holes seen in areas of embossed decoration, mainly on the sugar bowl.
- All with some compression to the footed base, with creases seen around the short stems. In particular the cream jug where the foot is more significantly pressed into the underside of the body.
- Teapot with replacement finial (looks like base metal), and possibly a replacement hinge. Interior heavily stained. Some heavier surface nicks and marks around hinge pins. Also nibbles around rim of spout and likely solder repair.
- Cream jug looks to have some repairs to the handle and around the neck. The handle differs slightly from those on the sugar bowl. The bead rim also appears thicker on the rim of the jug and there are stippled borders below, which do not appear on the teapot or sugar.
- Hallmarks on the teapot and sugar bowl located on the underside, these clear and legible including part hallmarks to teapot lid. Hallmarks to cream jug located below rim, these rubbed but legible.
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
