Condition Report:
The canvas has an old glue relining and remains planar and stable under an even, though dulled varnish. The paint layer is well-preserved. There is a horizontal scratch to the surface running along the lower left, about three inches above the edge, which appears to only be in the varnish layer but is visible to the naked eye. Under ultraviolet light one can see a handful of old restorations, including a horizontal line lower right running through the bird's leg, and some more concentrated areas in the white bird at left. These are not visible to the naked eye. The composition remains colorful and decorative and could be hung as is, or given a fresh varnish. Offered in a carved giltwood frame.
