A needlework sampler by Wilfred and Kara Harchant
A needlework sampler by Wilfred and Kara Harchant,
19th/20th century, worked with a house flanked by a pair of spaniels, comedy and tragedy masks, a bookshelf, inkwell and pipe, with a trailing border,
29 x 22cm
Provenance: The Peter and Pat Crofts Collection.
A sampler that has been unusually worked by two members of the same family, probably brother and sister. It is reasonable to assume the Harchants were a Wisbech family.
