A nice Celtic bronze socketed axe head, Central Europe
A nice Celtic bronze socketed axe head, Central Europe, Late Bronze Age, c. 800 - 600 BC. A very well-preserved example with ridges on the body and two parallel ridges below the shaft hole. The side bears a mounting loop and the cutting edge is rather straight. H: 3 7/8 in (9.8 cm). Crisp details and a nice olive green patina. Ex South German private collection.
