A nice Chinese bronze socketed adze, Shang-Zhou
A nice Chinese bronze socketed adze, Shang-Zhou, c. 1100 - 800 BC, with flattened sides, a slightly flared, rounded cutting edge and a slit for fastening to a handle that had a right-angle curve. L: 2 3/4 in (7 cm). Nicely patinated with pleasing bronze tone. Ex Boston private collection.
