A nice Roman bronze horse in naturalistic style
A nice Roman bronze horse, 1st - 2nd Century AD, in naturalistic style and with a lion's skin draped over its back, it walks slowly with right foreleg raised and head slightly turned to the right. 2 1/2 x 2 3/8 in (6.3 x 5.9 cm). Nicely patinated and mounted on an old black block base. Ex Connecticut private collection.
