A nice ancient iron nail, Roman Britian

A nice iron nail from the era of the crucifixion of Christ, Roman Britain, c. early 1st century AD. This nail was made within 45 years of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, which most likely occurred in 33 AD. If it were not for the archaeological context of their discovery, these nails would be indistinguishable from the crucifixion nails used in Judea at the time. This nail was part of a discovery found by Sir Ian Richmond in 1961 while excavating the Roman fortress of Inchtuthil in Roman Britain. L: 88 mm (3 1/2 in), extremely well-preserved for iron!
