A nice iron mace head, Eastern Europe
A nice iron mace head, Eastern Europe, 14th - 15th Century, with flat top and six vertically orientated flanges or ‘wings’. A nice solid example and was originally mounted on the end of a long wooden haft. 2 5/8 x 2 7/8 in (6.8 x 7.3 cm). Well-preserved with stable oxide patina. Ex Los Angeles private collection.
