A nice silver tetradrachm of Alexander the Great. Heavy silver tetradrachm struck during his lifetime, 336 - 323 BC, and depicts the head of Herakles facing right, wearing lion's skin headdress, the back side depicts Zeus seated to the left, holding an eagle and scepter. Dia: 25 mm, 16.79 g. Nicely toned and attractive. Ex Los Angeles private collection.
