A painted wood no mask of Namanari type. Edo period
Mask of a female demon with an almost hexagonal face with a two-toned complexion and two very short horns, the wide-open mouth with two rows of golden teeth including four fangs and a wide tongue. The reverse painted brown. The eye pupils lined with metal. Japanese paper label reading Namanari and two other characters, and bearing the acc. no. (probably of a museum) reading “A 9077” in both white as well as in black ink. Some flaking of the pigments.
