A painted wood no mask of Waka-otoko type. Edo period
Mask of a young man with raised brows and wrinkles above the nose, the mouth open and showing both rows of blackened teeth, above the lips a whisp of a moustache, the hair combed into the temples, the face of a greyish colour, lips painted red. The reverse left unpainted. In black ink the name of the mask “waka-otoko” in Japanese and remains of Japanese paper labels.
