A pair of Apostle top spoons, each with plain circular

A pair of Apostle top spoons, each with plain circular bowl and a flat slightly tapering stem leading to the Apostle terminal. Marked only to inner bowl, a round punch with letter 'w' visible, possibly 18th century Russian provincial. Length 7.5 (19cm), weight 3.69 ozt (115 grams). Dimensions: Condition Report: Both heavily tarnished throughout and would benefit from a clean and polish. Also displaying some general expected surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Each marked once to inner bowl, partly worn and rubbed. Mark on one spoon is clearer and is similar to an 18th century mark for Wiborg, Russia (Tardy, page 370). Metal has been tested and results vary between 83-89% Ag. Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns. Fellows does not guarantee the standard of silver unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible.
