A pair of Chinese famille rose-decorated porcelain "Thousand Bats" vases, Guangxu six-character marks and of the period “洪福齊天”瓶一對 光緒六字款 清光緒
Each of bottle form with flared lip and globular body, on a low circular foot, the iron red bats depicted flying among colorful ruyi-head shaped clouds, six-character mark to the underside in iron-red, later inscribed "CHINA" H: 15 3/8 in.; 15 1/2 in.

NOTE: In Chinese, red bats flying among clouds refer to the homophonous saying "Hong Fu Qi Tian" (Magnificent Good Fortune as Boundless as Heaven), often used as a felicitous birthday greeting.
