A pair of Continental, probably French, rouge royale and noir Belge marble columnar pedestals, late 19th century, each with a Corinthian order capital above a tapered shaft and moulded circular socle, 113cm high overall

Condition Report:
The columns are variously chipped/nibbled overall, particularly the corners and edges, including to the tops and bases of the shafts and exposed corners of the capitals. Each circular moulded base has a flat rear, which may have been done in order to line them up flatly against the wall, and each also has one less fully carved side of the capital, presumably also intended to be viewed from the rear. Stems with one or two cracks and repairs. Each is composed of three detachable sections. The tops are approximately 20cm square
