A pair of Continental figured walnut and gilt metal mounted serpentine commodes, in mid 18th century style, second half 20th century, each mottled pink and ochre coloured marble top above three drawers and a shaped apron, on moulded outswept legs terminating in sabots, each 94cm high, 133.5cm wide, 62cm deep
Condition Report:
Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old chips and splits. Some old repairs. Some drawers with old stuck down lining. Metalware original including locks. Key present. Fragment s of stuck down paper to reverse of rear legs. No obvious cracks or damages to marble, some very tiny chips mainly at rear edges. Some very minor old use of filler to disguise natural faults.
