A pair of Coptic textile panels

A pair of Coptic textile panels, c. 4th - 7th Century AD, both nicely embroidered and originally parts of decorative garments. The first features a seated person with a bird above a floral element flanked by animals, all richly bordered with geometric and floral elements, 5 ½ x 5 3/8 in (13.9 x 13.6 cm). The second is quite colorful and depicts a figure with hand raised bordered by geometric and floral devices, the outermost bordered with a wave pattern. 6 ¾ x 3 ¾ in (17.2 x 9.5 cm).
