A pair of Dresden silver candelabra
Round, scalloped bases supporting baluster-form shafts with faint 18th century style drapery designs. The separately wrought four-flame candelabras with curving branches and large foliate drip pans. Both monogrammed 'JA', one with a baronial, the other with a comital, crown. H 43.5 cm, filled.
Marks of Julius Theodor Marpé and Moritz August Fickert, around 1850 - 1880.
Moritz August Fickert was supplier to the electoral court at Dresden and apparently also produced supplements to the Wettin court silver.
