A pair of Empire style mahogany low bookcases, 19th century, each with a white marble top above adjustable open shelves, flanked by brass anthemion mounts, 82cm high, 98cm wide, 29cm deep
Condition Report:
Each with marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, the marble tops each with the usual chips and losses to the edges and extremities, also surface dirt and discolouration, The metal mounts quite dull in appearance, these would benefit from a polish, The shelves with the usual wear and marks consistent with age and use in a domestic setting, These have previously had doors fitted - there are old holes where the hinges would have been - these had not been let in and may well have been added and not part of the original design, the holes are only clear on close inspection
