A pair of French cloisonné enamel and silvered metal vases in the Japonisme taste, in the manner of examples by Ferdinand Barbedienne, early 20th century, of cylindrical form, the silvered openwork rims cast with Oriental-inspired forms and the twin handles modelled as foliate bamboo, the bodies with polychrome peonies, each on three feet cast as elephant masks, with indistinct inscription to the underside, 32.5 cm high
The vases bear the minor marks, scuffs and scratches overall consistent with age and use.
