A pair of George III silver mounted wine coasters, each of circular form with beaded rim above pieced borders of stylised foliage enclosing a central band of simple pierced pales interspersed with urn motifs and a vacant square panel, with turned wood base. Hallmarked London 1780 with maker's mark WA. Diameter 4.75 (12cm). Dimensions: Condition Report: Both coasters displaying general expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.Some minor dints and bumps and slightly misshapen rims. One coaster with slight split along a seam line through the pierced decoration. This same coaster with large crack through wood base and the base is quite loose in the silver mount. Base to other coaster is also very slightly loose. Replacement baize lining to both. Hallmarks to both quite heavily rubbed and worn but mostly legible.
