A pair of George III turned mahogany and brass mounted candlesticks

A pair of George III turned mahogany and brass mounted candlesticks, circa 1790, the beaded and foliate sconces rising from fluted and twist fluted baluster stems, with domed and dished bases, lead-weighted, 38.5cm high Condition Report: The candlesticks bear the usual minor marks, knocks and scuffs overall consistent with age and use. The brass is a little bent and the gilding slightly worn/mottled.There is an old split running across one of the bases, this is stable. The lead weight underneath this base is a little loose.The other has at one point been re-fastened. This base also has what appears to be an old healed crack or split to the base.This candlestick also has a small chip to one of the mouldings.There are a few smaller nicks and knocks overall, predominantly to the bases.They are polished to quite a shiny degree and there are traces of varnish to the undersides. Overall these are in perfectly presentable condition.Condition Report Disclaimer
