A pair of Italian Grand Tour souvenir models of Roman gladiators
A pair of Italian Grand Tour souvenir models of Roman gladiators, early 20th century, both portrayed as essentially nude and in bellicose pose, both with shield and gladus, one with arm raised to hold a (missing) spear, on rectangular marmo Siena bases
16 and 17.5cm high respectively
And another pair of Italian Grand Tour souvenir models of Roman gladiators, early 20th century, both portrayed standing and in armour, each with gladus, on circular marmo Siena bases
17.5cm high
Condition Report: All four bronzes are in basically good order, the only real detraction being that a spear is missing from the raised right hand of one of the figures. That model is also a little loose on its base.
The patina in all four ranges from a darker brown to a mid olive green.
Bases are minorly chipped to extremities overall consistent with age and use.
