A pair of Italian carved wood, gesso and silvered altar candlesticks, 18th/19th century, with vase shape nozzles, acanthus sheathed stems, on sturdy triangulated bases with scrolled ends 59cm high
Provenance: Collection of Mike Handford, 'Hillsleigh', Burford, Oxfordshire
both with a few old worm holes, small restorations (one probably cracked at the stem and reglued) and general loss of surface through age and use.
