A pair of Near Eastern bronze bowls

A pair of Near Eastern bronze bowls, c. 1200 - 800 BC, the first a hemispherical bowl fashioned from sheet bronze with flattened rim, Dia: 5 1/2 in (14 cm). The second is a bronze sheet jar flared rim, squat globular body and broad, flat raised foot, 1 3/4 x 4 1/4 in (4.4 x 10.3 cm). Cf. Moorey, Catalogue of Persian Bronzes in the Ashmolean Museum, p. 267, no. 508. The first with some cleaning marks, but both intact with attractive patination. Ex West Virginia private collection.
